Keeter Training Center
Civil-Site Design
Alpha & Omega Group provided civil engineering services for the Raleigh Fire Department’s Keeter Training Center. Services included concrete slab-on-grade structural design and the design of a 60,000 gallon below-ground cistern for firefighting water reclamation.
The scope of services included an inspection of the existing concrete pavement and determining the area of existing concrete pavement to be removed and replaced. We coordinated site operations with fire department staff to develop a work sequence convenient to training facility programs, developed a site plan, re-worked existing waterline piping, and added concrete slab-on-grade parking space to access the cistern. A&O relocated the calibrating instrument from the existing underground tank to the proposed cistern, located a new house pad for the existing diesel pump, and developed repair plans for replacing existing damaged concrete pavement. Also, we developed opinions of probable construction cost, assisted in obtaining permit approvals, developed contract documents, assisted the owner with bidding the project, provided construction administration services, and provided project closeout documentation.
