Walnut Creek Feasibility Study
For Structural Replacement and Asphalt Pavement Assessment
Alpha & Omega Group assisted the City of Raleigh with a feasibility study for the repair or replacement of five boardwalk structures and the asphalt pavement overlay of approximately 1.10 miles of trail in Southeast Raleigh.
A&O investigated each boardwalk structure to review desired improvements and provided a final report including project identification and limits, site access, replacement options, and various site-specific needs.
The final report included budgetary costs such as fees for topographic survey, hydraulics, environmental, geotechnical investigation, development of construction documents, and construction administration. We provided final recommendations based on our professional engineering opinion as well as associated construction costs.
The City has relied on A&O to perform similar evaluations on individual projects according to specific needs including scope of work and associated costs for budgetary reasons. Our relationship with the City has grown and A&O is listed as an on-call consultant for civil and structural engineering services.
One of the five structures (Structure 88) is now scheduled for design and construction administration by A&O. Ω
