Lake Level Monitoring Design
H&H studies and Water Resources Engineering
Wake County needed a self-contained stormwater monitoring system, remotely powered and accessible through a mobile phone, for the Lake Crabtree dam 23 (Wake-356). Alpha & Omega Group designed and developed a remote monitoring system, based on a feasibility study we conducted previously.!

Our scope of services included a hydrologic and hydraulic study to calibrate lake levels with storm frequency in the watershed, identifying the frequency of emergency spillway activation. We determined the monitoring equipment needs and provided specifications for a data logger system with multiple sensors, and identified the location for the permanent mounting of the monitoring base station and individual sensors. We prepared an engineer’s construction cost estimate, will assist with bidding, and provide construction administration services. Ω
