Bond Lake Dam Repair
Alpha & Omega Group provided professional engineering services to remedy 1,000 feet of erosion damage at the Wake-060 Fred G. Bond dam, a Class C (high-hazard dam) on the Crabtree Creek watershed.
The dam had developed wave action erosion at numerous places along the length of the protective bench on the impoundment side of the earthen dam. Wake County wanted to repair the erosion and restore the protective bench to its original configuration.
A&O coordinated with a professional land surveyor for a topographic survey and produced construction documents for the repair. We provided a project manual including bidding documents and specifications; provided an engineer’s opinion of probable costs; and submitted proposed plans to USDA-NCRS and NCDEQ Dam Safety for approval. We assisted with bidding and provided construction administration during the construction phase. We also provided Wake County with as-build record plans. Ω
