Crowder Park
Retaining Wall Replacement
Alpha & Omega Group provided professional engineering services to Wake County Parks and Recreation to prepare plans and specifications for replacing a timber retaining wall, sidewalk, and railing at Crowder District Park on Ten-Ten Road, Apex, NC.
Wake County wanted to replace the existing timber wall with a cementitious retaining wall that could also be used for seating and to replace the railing with a composite material. The existing composite and timber decking would be replaced with a concrete sidewalk.
A&O’s scope of services included reviewing existing construction drawings and field data collection; preparing a civil plan for slopes, sidewalk, and wall elevations; preparing plans for replacement of the timber wall, curbs, and associated rails; and preparing technical specifications and a cost estimate. We attended pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, performed site observation during construction, and performed project closeout. Ω
