Historic Oakview County Park
Historic Assessments and Renovations
Alpha & Omega Group served as the structural engineer for Historic Oak View’s facilities, including the farmhouse, carriage house, cotton gin/museum, barn, kitchen, and Bluebird picnic shelter; all buildings required renovations to maintain historic integrity. This work was performed over several years as each structure needed repairs and as budgets allowed.
For each of the five buildings, A&O’s structural team performed site visits to further quantify areas in need of repair. We prepared plans for the repair work, followed by site observation during construction. For structural renovations, the team performed assessments and prepared construction documents. The team also attended meetings and assisted the County with bidding and construction administration.
For Bluebird picnic shelter, the team performed a site visit to measure the existing shelter; designed and prepared plans for a stairway for the shelter and the adjacent barbecue area; and performed a final inspection after construction. Ω
