Site Design
Alpha & Omega Group was selected by GMK Associates for the professional civil engineering services for the site plan approval process for Aldert Root Elementary School in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The project included developing site and landscape plans for the renovation of the 1990 and 1996 buildings while incorporating them into the new construction, demolishing the 1958 building, and expanding the existing parking areas. The total building construction was 80,000 square feet, including new construction and minor/major renovations on this urban eight-acre site. Site development included artificial grass play areas for each grade level, additional parking, a bus loop and a new multi use play field with walking track.
A&O’s scope included grading, drainage design, stormwater management, erosion control, pavement design, pre-construction notification coordination with NCDEQ Division of Water Quality, onsite fire protection, and water and sanitary sewer design. A&O provided construction observation services and as-built drawings. Ω
