Apex Public Works
Civil Site Design
lpha & Omega Group, as subconsultant to Smith Sinnett Architecture, redesigned the Town of Apex Public Works existing site to accommodate the addition of two buildings and the renovation of the existing facility, per the Town of Apex Unified Development Ordinance. We designed concrete paved areas for the strorage of service trucks, spools of wire, electrical transformers and granular material. A new salt dome was added to the site with drive-through loading access.
A&O’s engineering scope of design services included four stormwater bio-retention ponds, pavement design, grading, erosion control, potable water and sanitary sewer public main extensions and service connections, parking design, below-ground cistern designed to capture rainwater for washing utility trucks, and off-site roadway improvements to NC Highway 55. Review agencies included NCDOT, NCDENR Land Quality, Division of Water Quality, USACE and Town of Apex. Ω
