Craven County Bridge 66
NCDOT Bridge Replacement
As a subconsultant to TransSystems, Alpha & Omega produced the design for the replacement of a cored slab bridge on Cicero Riggs Road over Beard Creek in Craven County.
The bridge was considered functionally obsolete by NCDOT and required a replacement that would address safety concerns for the old bridge as well as accommodate new multimodal needs. The replacement bridge is a two-lane cored slab bridge that is 91 feet long with concrete caps and timber piles.
Alpha & Omega Group provided construction documents for the project as well as preliminary general drawings. The drawings have been submitted and construction of the replacement is currently underway. Ω
