Lake Crabtree Boathouse Deck
Replacement of Timber Deck
Alpha & Omega Group provided professional services to Wake County Parks and Recreation to improve the decking of Lake Crabtree County Park boathouse in Morrisville, NC.
A&O provided plans and specifications for replacing the existing timber decking with a composite material of the same dimensional size, installing additional joists to reduce the span for the deck material, and matching the composite to adjacent composite materials at the boat dock. The deck fascia was replaced with the same materials, existing handrails were removed, refinished and re-installed, and existing timber stairs on the lake side of the deck were removed and replaced with concrete steps.
A&O reviewed the existing construction drawings and field data collection, developed project specifications and cost estimates, assisted with bidding, and made a recommendation for award. In addition, we performed site observation during construction and project closeout. Ω
