Honeycutt Creek Greenway
Structural and hydraulic design
A s part of the WSP Group design team, Alpha & Omega Group performed structural and hydraulic engineering services for Raleigh Parks & Recreation Department’s Honeycutt Creek Greenway: preliminary engineering, data collection and field investigation/reconnaissance, coordination with Geotechnologies for geotechnical investigation, foundations recommendations, flood studies and bridge design.
The design work for the nearly five miles of greenway involved hydraulic studies on East Fork Mine Creek and Honeycutt Creek. We prepared and submitted a conditional letter of map revision (CLOMR) and prepared design and construction drawings for three pre-engineered bridges, 16 bridges/boardwalks with a total length over 2,500 feet, and nine retaining walls.
A&O provided construction administration services, which included special inspections, submittal reviews, and payment application reviews. We served as the liaison between the contractor and owner and prepared change orders. Ω
