Lake Crabtree Greenway
Pedestrian Bridges and Boardwalk Design
As a sub-consultant to WithersRavenel, Alpha & Omega Group provided structural engineering services for a new greenway in Cary. The project includes a 730-foot PermaTrak lake crossing and foundation designs with approach boardwalks for three pedestrian bridges.
A&O coordinated with WithersRavenel for survey locations needed to perform hydraulic analysis for stream crossings. We also coordinated with GeoTechnologies for geotechnical investigation and foundations recommendations and consulted with the contractor for constructability issues.
A&O provided design development, construction drawings, and specifications showing plan, profile, and details for bridge foundations, piers, boardwalks, and pre-engineered bridges. We also developed an engineer’s opinion of probable construction costs. During the construction phase, we provided construction administration services for the three bridges. Ω
