Pritchett Farm Greenway
Structural Engineering
Alpha & Omega Group, as a sub-consultant to WithersRavenel, provided structural engineering and design services for the Pritchett Farm Greenway in Cary.
The project consists of two timber structures: a 112-foot boardwalk with average spans of 12 feet and a six-foot wide clearance; and a 24-foot single span bridge with 10-foot clearance, designed to meet load capacity requirements for emergency vehicles. Both structures are designed to be above the 100-year flood study elevations provided by WithersRavenel.
A&O coordinated with a geotechnical engineer to provide structure load requirements for geotechnical investigation and performed a site visit to evaluate existing conditions. We developed a plan, profile, and typical sections for both structures. Ω
